Hope Is The Thing With Feathers ...
“Hope”
is the thing with feathers –
That
perches in the soul –
And
sings the tune without words –
And
never stops at all.”
~ “Hope Is The Thing With Feathers”
~ Emily Dickinson
~ 1830-1886
Spring
– and the hope it brings – was just around the corner when I captured this
white feather that landed softly among the brown winter branches on a mid-March
afternoon at Lehigh Parkway, Allentown, Pennsylvania, a reminder that hope is
always in the wind and appears where you least expect it.

The Icing Over The Creek ...
“Music
comes from an icicle as it melts, to live again as spring water.”
~ Henry Williamson
~ 1895-1977
~
English army officer, naturalist,
farmer & ruralist writer
Icicles
seemingly sing with artistic beauty in the sunshine of a winter afternoon,
after forming on a fallen tree trunk over the Jordan Creek, in this high
contrast monochrome shot I captured on a January day at Trexler Nature
Preserve, Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.
