Close To You ...

"Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me they long to be
close to you."
                    "Close To You"
~ Burt Bacharach & Hal David
                                                   1963

Perhaps these mourning doves were thinking
of the song made popular by the Carpenters as they
shared a spot on the wire on a summer afternoon
in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Aspirations ...

"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations.
I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty,
believe in them, and try to follow where they lead."
                                                       ~ Louisa May Alcott
                                                                           (1832-1888)

Sweet and gentle mourning dove is perched on a wire
on a May afternoon at Wehr's Covered Bridge Park,
Orefield, Pennsylvania.
