We're Just Whistlin' Dixie ...

“Better have as a king a vulture advised by swans
Than a swan advised by vultures.”
      ~ Panchatantra
A pair of turkey vultures are just whistlin’ dixie perched amidst the Spanish Moss on a late October afternoon in the beautiful Lowcountry of Beaufort County, South Carolina.

He's Just Whistlin' Dixie ...

“I find my happiness where the sun shines.”
            ~ Author Unknown

This alligator is just whistlin’ dixie on the sunny side of the lagoon on an October afternoon in the Lowcountry of Beaufort County, South Carolina.

This autumn day was the first time I had the chance to photograph an alligator, and this one lazed in the sun for a very long time!

Whistlin' Dixie ...

"... In Dixie's Land, where I was born in,
early on one frosty mornin'...
I wish I was in Dixie ...
Away, away, away down South in Dixie!"
                              ~ "Dixie" ("Dixie's Land")

Striking up a banjo and fiddle on a sun
streaked summer's day, this couple fills the air with the sweet sounds of Dixieland.

I loved hearing these wonderful tunes echo
through Lehigh Parkway, Allentown,
Pennsylvania as I snapped this
candid scene.

Perhaps they are wistfully thinking of home as
their music makes the summer even sweeter.
