Summer Velvet ...

“The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone.”
                 ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
                                 ~ 1749-1842

The afternoon light dances on the velvet antlers of this majestic yearling on an August day at Lehigh Parkway, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

I was happily surprised to see this young white-tailed deer buck so early in the day, as he posed for a few photos before continuing to follow a beautiful doe down the summer path.

Wild In The Country ...

"... Wild, wild, like the deer and the dove
Wild and free is this land that I love ...
A dream grows wild in the country...
And here with a dream in my heart
Part of the wild, wild country, am I."

~ The title track from the 1961 dramatic film
"Wild In The Country," recorded by

Nurturing Nature ...

Sweet white-tailed deer doe nurses her fawn, now a button buck,
on an October evening in the park. Of all the deer photos I've
snapped, this is the first time I've witnessed nursing.

I've been blessed to photograph this doe and her fawns for
two and a half years, and it's a joy to me personally and
as a photographer !

The Eyes Of Love ...

Beautiful white-tailed deer doe casts a watchful, loving
eye on her fawn. Someday this sweet fawn will be
a proud buck, but on this late summer evening in
the park he was happy grazing with his mother.

I've been blessed to photograph this doe and
her fawns for more than two years, and it's a
real joy!

Wishing On A Star

As sweet yearling "freshens up" his gaze looks like he could be wishing on a star

My Favorite Yearling

It's been a joy to watch this sweet and beautiful white-tailed deer grow over the past year. I've
been photographing him since he was a fawn in the park, and now he's a yearling!

Apple For The Yearling

Yearling eats an apple while keeping an eye on another apple, which he also ate!
