Winter White ...
“I wonder if the snow loves
the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up
snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, “Go to sleep, darlings,
till the summer comes again.”
~Lewis Carroll

Adventures in Wonderland”

The first snowfall of the season gently wraps the landscape in the beauty of winter white at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania as sunset draws near. Though the first snow fell December 9, 2017, a few weeks before the official beginning of winter, it blanketed the late autumn day with hushed winter beauty.

The First Snowfall ...
“Oh
the first snowfall of the winter
Was
a day that we all waited for …
Oh
the first snowfall of the winter
Jingle
bells wove their spells ever dear
Under
wintry skies of gray
It
was snowing hard all day
And
it showed no signs of stoppin …
On
the first snowfall of the winter
Oh,
that first snowfall of the year …”

Crosby was the first popular singer

is quiet as the snow softly continues to fall as sunset draws near during the
