At The Twilight's Last Gleaming ...
"Oh say can you see
by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed
at the twilight's last gleaming ..."
~ "The Star Spangled Banner"
~ Francis Scott Key

The waning evening sunlight illuminates
The Star Spangled Banner this spring at

Runneth Over ...
"I memorize moments that I'm fondest of ...
And so in these moments with sunlight above
My cup runneth over with love ...."
~ "My Cup Runneth Over"
~ "I Do! I Do!"
~1966
Summer streams over the crest of the creek
at one of my favorite spots at Trexler Memorial Park,
Allentown, Pennsylvania, bringing to mind the
beautiful words of that song.
This moment was captured in a long exposure, high contrast monochrome shot.

Sunday In The Country ...
"Do not let Sunday be taken from you.
If your soul has no Sunday, it becomes
an orphan."
~ Albert Schweitzer
1875-1965
I saw this rural scene on an early summer Sunday
afternoon from the Ironton Rail Trail, which loops more than
nine miles through Whitehall Township, the Borough of Coplay and
North Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania.
The corridor was originally home to the
Ironton Railroad 1860-1984.

Softly, As In An Evening Sunset ...
"Softly, as in an evenin' sunset
the light that gave you glory
will take it all away" ...
So sang the wonderful Bobby Darin in his version of
"Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise," from
Sigmund Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein's
1928 operetta, "The New Moon."
This sunset stole softly into the sky on a hot
June evening at Trexler Memorial Park,
Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Grazin' In The Grass...
"It sure is mellow grazin' in the grass ...
The sun beaming down between the leaves ...
Everything here is so clear you can see it,
Everything here is so real you can feel it ..."
~ "Grazing In The Grass"
~ The Friends of Distinction, 1969
Beautiful white-tailed deer doe seems mellow indeed
as she grazes on a June evening in the park. I've been blessed to
photograph this doe and her fawns for the past two years.

Come On Get Happy ...
You better chase all your cares away
Shout Hallelujah, come on get happy ..."
~ "Get Happy"
~ Harold Arlen & Ted Koehler, 1930
My candid camera captured this girl jumping for joy
that summer is near on a June evening at

What's It All About Alfie ...
"What's it all about Alfie...
when you walk let your heart lead the way
and you'll find love any day ...
"Alfie"
~Burt Bacharach & Hal David
~1966
The image of this man fishing alone at
Wehr's Dam, Orefield, Pennsylvania on a June evening made me wonder if he could be thinking about his life as in "What's it all about Alfie ..."

Champagne On A Stem ...
"What is art? It is the response of man's
creative soul to the call of the real."
~ Rabindranath Tagore
1861-1941
Roses may very well be the champagne of flowers.
This beautiful Rainbow Sorbet Rose is captured
in monochrome in June at the Malcolm W. Gross

Never My Love ...
"What makes you think love will end
When you know that my whole life
depends on you ...
Never my love ..."
"Never My Love,"
~ The Association, 1967
The life of the rosebud is intertwined
with that of the rose in full bloom, which colors it with life
on a June day at
the Malcolm W. Gross Memorial Rose Gardens,
Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Stardust Memories ...
on a June evening. The Nineteenth Street Theatre is an historic community
center that hosts theatre, arts education and film. It is the oldest cinema in
Allentown, Pennsylvania, opening Sept. 17, 1928. In July 1957, the property
was purchased by Allentown's Civic Little Theatre. It is located in the heart
of the quaint West End Theatre District.
