Mountain Moonshine ...

“We ran as if to meet the moon.”
              ~ Robert Frost
                       ~ 1874-1963
The autumn moon seems to meet the mountain as it rises to shine over the Kittatinny Ridge, also called Blue Mountain, along the Delaware and Lehigh Heritage Corridor (D&L Trail) at Lehigh Gap on a late November evening.

In the shadow of the Kittatinny Ridge, the Lehigh Gap in Slatington, Pennsylvania, is a crossroads where the Lehigh Gap Nature Center’s trails connect two historic trails – the Appalachian Trail and the D&L Trail.

The Appalachian Trail, a foot path, follows the ridge on both sides of the Lehigh Gap, running 1,245 miles south to Georgia and 930 miles north to Maine. Running from Wilkes-Barre to Bristol, the D&L Trail passes through the Lehigh and Delaware rivers and their canals in Pennsylvania.

Red Steppin' ...

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

When I saw the bright pop of red on this fire escape on a late October afternoon in downtown Easton, Pennsylvania, I knew I had to capture it in a photograph!

Taking A Bite Out Of Winter ...

“It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”
                    ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder
                              ~ 1867-1957
My favorite white-tailed deer doe takes a bite out of winter as she enjoys eating an apple on a February evening in the park.

I’ve been blessed to photograph this doe and her fawns since 2012, and it’s a true joy to me personally and as a photographer.
