Ella Fitzgerald's "My One And Only Love" sets the jazzy backdrop for the this celebration of the splendor that is spring showcased in my original nature photos. My greatest joy as a photographer is harmonizing my favorite original photos to music to create a lingering snapshot of the season.
"Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~1803-1882 Sunset hues begin to steal across the summer sky over Easton, Pennsylvania as viewed from across the Delaware River in Phillipsburg, New Jersey next to the historic Northampton Street Bridge, commonly called The Free Bridge.
The bridge that spans the states was completed in 1896 and survived damage from massive flooding from Hurricane Diane in 1955. It underwent a thorough restoration in 1990.
"But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues ..." ~ "Summertime Blues" ~ 1958
The song says there ain't no cure for the summertime blues, and there ain't no cure for monochrome Great Blue! This Great Blue Heron sits for a portrait in high contrast monochrome on a summer evening at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
"Why do birds suddenly appear Every time you are near? Just like me they long to be close to you." "Close To You" ~ Burt Bacharach & Hal David 1963
Perhaps these mourning doves were thinking of the song made popular by the Carpenters as they shared a spot on the wire on a summer afternoon in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Beautiful white-tailed deer yearling strikes a regal pose in the park on a summer evening. I've been blessed to photograph this young buck's mama doe and her fawns for two years.
All that glitters is gold in the night sky during the 2014 Fourth of July fireworks set off from J. Birney Crum Stadium, Allentown, Pennsylvania. Ah, to have fireworks every day!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY AMERICA!
"Here we come ... we're the young generation, and we've got something to say ..." ~ "Theme from The Monkees" ~1966
A whimsical view of two adorable white-tailed deer fawns as they ran out of the thicket to greet a June sunset just off the Ironton Rail Trail, North Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania.
"I memorize moments that I'm fondest of ... And so in these moments with sunlight above My cup runneth over with love ...." ~ "My Cup Runneth Over" ~ "I Do! I Do!" ~1966 Summer streams over the crest of the creek at one of my favorite spots at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania, bringing to mind the beautiful words of that song. This moment was captured in a long exposure, high contrast monochrome shot.
"He's so fine, wish he were mine ..." ~ "He's So Fine" ~ The Chiffons, 1963
It seems this white domestic duck may have been impressed with the other duck's splashing antics, thinking, "He's so fine!" on a June evening at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania. Ah, summer love!
"Softly drops the crimson sun: Softly down from overhead, Drop the bell-notes, one by one, Melting in the melting red ..." ~"Angelus" ~ Susan Coolidge 1835-1905
A view of a crimson sunset ablaze on a hot June evening at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
"Let the morning time drop all it's petals on me, Life I love you, all is groovy ..." "The 59th Street Bridge Song" (Feelin' Groovy) ~Simon and Garfunkel, 1966 This coneflower takes on a groovy mood in June at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
"Do not let Sunday be taken from you. If your soul has no Sunday, it becomes an orphan." ~ Albert Schweitzer 1875-1965
I saw this rural scene on an early summer Sunday afternoon from the Ironton Rail Trail, which loops more than nine miles through Whitehall Township, the Borough of Coplay and North Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania. The corridor was originally home to the Ironton Railroad 1860-1984.
I'm not a fan of bats, in fact they scare me. But seeing this one on a rock this evening at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania, was such an unusual sight I had to capture it in a photo.
"Softly, as in an evenin' sunset the light that gave you glory will take it all away" ...
So sang the wonderful Bobby Darin in his version of "Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise," from Sigmund Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein's 1928 operetta, "The New Moon."
This sunset stole softly into the sky on a hot June evening at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Beautiful white-tailed deer doe seems mellow indeed as she grazes on a June evening in the park. I've been blessed to photograph this doe and her fawns for the past two years.

"Alfie" ~Burt Bacharach & Hal David ~1966 The image of this man fishing alone at Wehr's Dam, Orefield, Pennsylvania on a June evening made me wonder if he could be thinking about his life as in "What's it all about Alfie ..."
