Shimmer Of Blue ...

“Some birds are not meant to be caged, that’s all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild …”

A beautiful tree swallow – known for its iridescent blue-green color upper parts – comes out of of its nesting box in early June at Lehigh Parkway, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

While there are young or eggs in the nest, adult tree swallows frequently dive bomb intruders, including curious humans, and attempt to drive them from the area – I personally know this to be true, and so does my camera!

Doe In The Spring Greens ...

“… I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief …
For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.”

~ “The Peace of Wild Things”
                              ~ Wendell Berry

My favorite white-tailed deer doe grazes in the spring greens on a beautiful June evening in the park.

I’ve been blessed to photograph this doe and her fawns since 2012, and it’s a true joy to me personally and as a photographer.
