Wild Red ...

"Never look back unless
you are planning to go that way."
                     ~ Henry David Thoreau
                                    ~ 1817-1862

The light of a late August sunset dances around
a wild and beautiful red fox as it peers ahead
in the high grass in the waning summer at
Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Fording A Spring Morn ...

"Joy comes in the morning."
                            ~ Psalm 30:5

God's creation renders a soft spring morning
at Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, Pennsylvania as an adorable dog splashes at the ford of the Jordan Creek.

This serene image paints why this is one of my
very favorite places to be and to photograph,
and radiates the words of Psalm 30:5, "Joy comes in the morning."

On A Clear Day You Can See Forever ...

"On a clear day
Rise and look around you
And you see who you are
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being
Outshines every star
You'll feel part of
Every mountain, sea and shore
You can hear from far and near
A world you've never, never heard before
And on a clear day
On that clear day
You can see forever, and ever, and ever
And ever more."
~ "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever"
~ from the 1965 musical
"On A Clear Day You Can See Forever"
~Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner,
Music by Burton Lane

Basking in the April sun, this seagull perched in New York Harbor seems as if it could see forever while gazing over the Hudson River on a beautiful and clear spring day in Manhattan.

Shades of Alleluia ...

"A Christian should be
an Alleluia from head to foot."
                   ~ St. Augustine
                               ~ 354-430 A.D.

It's a touchstone of faith in the city as banners
joyfully wave a colorful chorus of Alleluias outside Trinity Church at the corner of Broadway
and Wall Street in New York City in April.

The Episcopal parish in Lower Manhattan
was a refuge for relief workers after the terrorist
attacks of September 11, 2001. A sculpture
in front of the church was made out of a giant
sycamore tree destroyed on 9/11.

Shine On Freedom ...

"I know that for America
there will always be a bright dawn ahead."
                         ~ Ronald Reagan
                                 ~ 1911-2004
                       ~ 40th President of
               the United States of America

One World Trade Center - The Freedom Tower -
gleams as April sunshine wraps itself around
Lower Manhattan on a gorgeous spring day
in New York City.

One World Trade Center is the main building
of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex.
With 104 floors, it is the tallest skyscraper
in the Western Hemisphere and the fourth
tallest in the world. It opened November 3, 2014.

January On The Jordan ...

"I saw that my life was a vast glowing empty
page and I could do anything I wanted."
                            ~ Jack Kerouac
                                ~ 1922-1969

The light of approaching sunset dances and glows on the icy waters of the Jordan Creek at
Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville,
Pennsylvania on a gorgeous winter day.

This view of the flowing creek speaks to
me of following your dreams, possibilities,
and the inspiriting words of Jack Kerouac.

I captured this scene soon after the historic
January Blizzard of 2016. In a winter shorn
of snow until the blizzard, the storm plonked
31 inches of snow on nearby Allentown
in a 24 hour period.

Painting The Snow Goose ...

"The snow goose need not bathe to make itself white.

Neither need you do anything but be yourself."

                                    ~ Lao Tzu

                                                    ~ died 531 B.C., China

A painterly portrait of beautiful snow goose braving the whipping March winds as the sun sets on a late winter day at

Frosting The Jordan ...

"In the depth of winter,

finally learned that

within me there lay an

invincible summer."

                    ~ Albert Camus

                                  ~ 1913-1960

Winter frosts the Jordan Creek into crystalized beauty as it winds it's way on a January day
through Wehr's Covered Bridge Park,
Orefield, Pennsylvania.

Irish Blessings ...

"An Irish Prayer"

May God give you ...

For every storm, a rainbow

For every tear, a smile

For every care, a promise

And a blessing in each trial.

For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share

For every sigh a sweet song

And an answer for each prayer.

The autumn sunshine of a gorgeous Indian Summer day
smiles on St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Belvidere, New Jersey.
The shamrock windows give a touch of an Irish blessing, with a
beautiful statue of Jesus Christ with his arms outstretched above them.

The cornerstone of this quaint, picturesque church at
327 Greenwich Street was laid in 1891.

Belvidere, one of my very favorite places,
is a charming Victorian town on
the banks of the Pequest and Delaware Rivers.

Follow That Dream ...

"I've got to follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
I've got to follow that dream to find the love I need ...

But when a dream is calling you,
There's just one thing that you can do

Well, you gotta follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
You gotta follow that dream to find the love you need

Keep a-movin, move along, keep a moving ..."
                         ~ "Follow That Dream"
~    from the 1962 musical film
                     "Follow That Dream"
~recorded by the great Elvis Presley

This Slinky follows it's dream to spring toward the rolling hills of Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, Pennsylvania
on a beautiful summer day, a great reminder to always follow that dream!

Slinky is a toy, a precompressed helical spring invented and developed by naval engineer Richard T. James in 1943.

A Child's Dream of Winter ...

"When I no longer thrill to the first snow of the season,
I'll know I'm growing old."
                                   ~ Claudia "Lady Bird" Johnson
                                                                 1912-2007

This brightly colored sled left behind by a child
shines like a beam of happiness after this season's
first significant snowfall on a November evening
at Trexler Memorial Park, Alletown, Pennsylvania,
a reminder to always see the season's first snowfall
with childlike wonder.

What A Wonderful World ...

"Yes, I think to myself,
What a wonderful world."
              ~ "What A Wonderful World"
~Bob Thiele & George David Weiss
                                                         ~performed by Louis Armstrong
                                                                ~ 1967

Seeing this sweet female white-tailed deer fawn
grazing on wild red berries on an October day on
the Saucon Rail Trail, Hellertown, Pennsylvania
made me stop and think, "what a wonderful world!"

Candle On Wings ...

"If everyone lit just one little candle,
What a bright world it would be!"
