Grackle On Green Waters ...

“In order to see birds it is necessary to become part of the silence.”

           ~ Robert Wilson Lynd

            ~ 1879 ~ 1949

~ Irish writer, editor of poetry, urbane literary essayist & strong Irish nationalist

A common grackle soaks up the beauty of late spring perched in the waters of the Jordan Creek, which reflects the green trees of early June, on a beautiful evening at Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, Pennsylvania. Grackles are members of the blackbird family.

Snow Dance Through The Pines ...

“No one can look at a pine tree in winter without knowing that spring will come again in due time.”

   ~ Frank Bolles

       ~ 1856 ~ 1894

~American writer, naturalist & secretary of Harvard University

A fresh February snowfall dances through the pine trees, draping them in a beautiful winter garland as pinecones dangle from the branches, in this image I captured at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The Magnolia In Winter ...

“If winter comes, can spring be far behind?”

         ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley

                 ~1792 ~ 1822

~ “Ode to the West Wind”

The pink magnolia is my most favorite of trees, and in this image my favorite at Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania is kissed by snow when I captured it after a fresh February snowfall.
