Lighting Up The Nightstand ...

“…I fell in love with you
 and then you went away
But now you’re coming home to stay
Hot dog, soon everything will be all right
Hot dog, we’re gonna have a ball tonight
I’ve got a pocketful of dimes
It’s gonna be just like old times, hot dog …”
                          ~ “Hot Dog”
~written by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller
~ recorded by the great Elvis Presley
on the 1957 album “Loving You”

Hot dog! It's a rare warm February evening when the iconic Jimmy's Doggie Stand lights up a winter night on the corner of Union Square in historic Phillipsburg, New Jersey.

Today ... It's Spring ... Video

The lilting beauty of the folk song "Today," recorded by the New Christy Minstrels in 1964, sets the melodious mood for this celebration of spring showcased in my original photos.

My greatest joy as a photographer is harmonizing my favorite original photos to music to create a lingering snapshot of the season ... Enjoy!

Coca-Cola Summer ...

“I’d like to buy the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow white turtle doves.

I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I’d like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company
That’s the real thing.

What the world wants today
Coca-Cola
Is the real thing.”

~ “Buy The World A Coke”
            ~ famous Coca-Cola jingle circa 1971

Summer, baseball and Coca-Cola go together like mom, Chevrolet and apple pie. And the scoreboard on the ballfield at Walter’s Park, Phillipsburg, New Jersey sparkles in June with the refreshing message of Coca-Cola, “ Enjoy! Coca- Cola, Always part of your team.”

“I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony)” is a pop song that originated as the jingle “Buy the World a Coke” in the groundbreaking 1971 “Hilltop” television commercial for Coca-Cola. “Buy the World a Coke” was produced by Billy Davis and portrayed a positive message of hope and love, featuring a multicultural collection of teenagers on top of a hill appearing to sing the song. “Buy the World a Coke” repeated “It’s the real thing” as Coca-Cola’s marketing theme at the time. Coca-Cola introduced that slogan in October 1969.

Coca-Cola, often referred to simply as Coke, is a carbonated soft drink produced by The Coca-Cola Company of Atlanta, Georgia. Originally intended as a patent medicine, it was invented by Confederate Colonel John Pemberton and introduced May 8, 1886.

Winter Satin Video ...

Smooth, silky and sophisticated, the legendary Duke Ellington's "Satin Doll" sets the jazz-infused mood for this celebration of winter showcased in my original photos.

April On The Delaware ...

"Roaring dreams take place in a
perfectly silent mind.
Now that we know this,
throw the raft away."
                     ~ Jack Kerouac
                           ~ 1922-1969

Whether your mind is harkening back to bygone Aprils or racing with hopes for the future, April on the Delaware River is a beautiful place to dream.

Whether you’re cruising in a speedboat or fishing – with your dog as first mate – on a small craft shaded by a green umbrella, sailing the river that straddles New Jersey and Pennsylvania offers a glorious vista.

It’s also a spectacular view from the Riverton-Belvidere Toll Supported Bridge, my vantage point when capturing this shot on a day teeming with the best of spring’s sun and warmth.

The bridge, which opened in 1904, links Belvidere, New Jersey and Riverton, Pennsylvania.

Belvidere, one of my very favorite places, is a charming Victorian town located on the banks of the Pequest and Delaware Rivers.
